Cosmetic Dentistry

There are many dentistry procedures available to help you look and feel better about your smiles, such as bleaching, bonding, metal-free crowns, bridges, and veneering. All of these options help teeth look brighter and give you a beautiful smile.

Whitening

This is a simple yet effective and affordable procedure. It uses carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide to lighten dark or stained teeth. Teeth can be whitened by professionally supervised at-home treatments, or through an accelerated process in the dentist’s office.

Bonding

Chipped, stained, or worn teeth are repaired by the application of a composite resin bonding material directly onto each tooth’s surface. This low-expense procedure allows the dentist to restore or enhance your smile in a single visit.

Veneers

A thin layer of porcelain can be applied to the front of a tooth to dramatically improve its position, size, color, and shape. Created in a dental laboratory, these restorations can provide you with a permanent aesthetic solution in just two clinical procedures.

Crowns

Crowns are similar to veneers, except that they are placed over the entire tooth. These restorations are used to correct severe decay or misalignment as well as teeth that have undergone root canal therapy. Crowns are fabricated in a laboratory to provide a stable bite and enhanced aesthetics.

Bridges

These restorations, generally made of porcelain or a composite material, are used to replace missing teeth, so they span the site of the missing tooth, making them a fabulous method by which to restore your bite and create a pleasant smile.

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays and onlays are used to replace silver fillings. They are usually made from composite resin material, porcelain, or gold. Once placed, they are virtually undetectable in the mouth, and conserve much of your natural tooth structure.

Gum Disease and Bad Breath Treatment

We provide periodontal therapy to protect against gum disease (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults. It is a gum infection that can damage the tissues and bone around the teeth. If left untreated, it can lead to tooth loss. Warning signs include bleeding from your gums when you brush, red, swollen, or tender gums, bad breath or bad taste, loose teeth, and gums that have pulled away from your teeth. Bad breath can also be a chronic problem for many. We can provide you with the latest oral rinses and tools to remove this from your list of concerns.

Implant Restoration

Dental implants, used to replace missing teeth, are fixtures that are inserted into underlying bone to serve as the base for an artificial tooth. A natural-looking crown is connected to the top of the implant to provide a predictable and safe way to create an attractive smile.

Root Canal Treatment

When a tooth has a large decay, is infected, or has been injured, the treatment is to remove the nerve. It takes 1-3 visits to treat depending on the tooth involved. A cap or crown is usually placed after root canal treatment.

Partial and Complete Dentures

If you have lost some or all of your natural teeth, whether it resulted from tooth decay, gum disease, or injury, we can make a partial or full denture. This will replace your missing teeth. We can restore your beautiful smile providing normal chewing and swallowing for your comfort.

Orthodontics and Invisalign

If you have crowded teeth or have a bad bite, we can correct it by doing orthodontics. It’s never too late to use braces, even for adults! Invisalign is a new way to straighten teeth without braces. So invisible... no one will notice. It uses a series of nearly undetectable aligners instead of traditional brackets and wires. So even up close it is very hard for people to tell you're wearing Invisalign. This new treatment can give you the smile you've always wanted without the braces you've always avoided. The best time to take your child for an orthodontic evaluation is at the age of 7 years old.

TMJ Treatment-Relieving Jaw Joint Pain

The TMJ, which stands for temporomandibular joint is a paired structure, one left and one right, which is located in front of the ear. The TMJ connects to the under side of the skull or “temporal” bone to the lower jaw, thus the name temporoman-dibular joint. Certain symptoms such as pain, limitation of jaw movement, headaches, nausea ringing of the ears, and dizziness are typical with TMJ disorder. If you feel TMJ dysfunction is causing you pain and discomfort, Dr. Lesniak can help you determine if this is the cause and how it can best be treated.

Air Abrasion

Air abrasion equipment is an option for removing tooth decay. It gives patients, especially those who dislike dental drills or cannot have local anesthesia, every reason to properly treat tooth decay, air abrasion is a quiet and comfortable alternative to traditional dental drilling.

Intraoral Camera

This allows the doctor to show patients a wide angle image of your smile or to zoom in close on one individual tooth. This lets patients see their mouth the way the doctor sees it and allows doctor and patient to effectively discuss ways to improve oral health and appearance.

Snoring & Sleeping Apnea

Snoring is frequently caused by poor muscle tone in the tongue and throat. During sleep poor muscle tone allows the tongue is to relax fall backwards into the airway. When the tongue is too relaxed, it may restrict normal airflow and cause vibration of the soft palate, which results in snoring. Other causes of snoring includes: large tonsils and adenoids, enlargement of the neck tissues from being overweight, obstructed nasal airway and excessive length and swelling of the soft palate.

Many people who snore have a condition known as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). OSA is characterized by breathing stoppage or pauses for 10 seconds or longer repeatedly during sleep. People with apnea may spend as much as half their sleep time with oxygen levels below normal. These periods of obstructed breathing can be accompanied by irregular heart beats, high blood pressure and may cause heart enlargement. People with OSA wake up tired and are sleepy much of the day. Driving can be a danger under these conditions. Lack of proper rest may cause personality changes and the person may have difficulty thinking and concentrating.

Ask Dr. Lesniak for advice if you suspect you have sleep apnea.

Bruxism

Does your jaw feel stiff or do you have difficulty opening your mouth wide? Are your teeth sensitive to cols drinks? Do your jaw muscles feel tired in the morning? You may be grinding your teeth tired in the morning? You may be grinding your teeth at night (a medical condition called bruxism) or you may be clenching your teeth, which can be just as harmful. People with nighttime grinding habits may wear their tooth enamel “ten times faster” than those without “abusive chewing habits. Eventually, your teeth may be worn down and destroyed.

In addition to relieving head, neck, jaw joint and shoulder pains, treating bruxism and clenching is cost effective compared to ignoring the condition and exposing teeth to continued grinding. Without treatment, crowns (caps), bridges, implants and dentures are often needed to repair or replace worn and damaged teeth. Ask Dr. Lesniak if a nightguard can help to provide temporary relief from grinding, bruxing or clenching.
